Not being able to save a video that you like or the webcam stream that a friend is sharing can be pretty frustrating. A simple solution would be to use Replay Video Capture, an application which was specifically designed to help you record the action on your screen.
I really enjoyed using Replay Video Capture, especially due to the improvements that have been made in the latest versions. For instance, one of the best things about this tool is that it has an auto video detection function. This means that if you are watching a video on your screen, the program will automatically set its capture region to match its size and position.
Another handy enhancement is the capability of the program to automatically change your Windows theme while recording (it will automatically be restored once you stop). Furthermore, the application now has a "keep alive" option which will ensure that your screensaver doesn't activate while you are filming.
From my perspective, Replay Video Capture is a tool which I would definitely recommend. I know that there are a lot of free video recorders, but the extra functions that this application brings to the table are totally worth the money.
